The notion that simplicity and clarity lead to good design, the phrase, "Less is more" was adopted by the Architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe a German-American architect. His legendary career started at his father’s stonemasonary business, giving him an early appreciation of material and structure.

An early introduction, into working with materials and the impact of these gives a better understanding of there suitability, and versatility.

As we are currently experiencing a more simplistic way of life, under unusual circumstances, I feel that this phrase is even more relevant today not only in terms of design, but in the way we apply this pause to our lives now and the future.
